Development and market realization of a Virtual Tourist Guide with Augmented Reality

The project of Global Tourism Technology Ltd. is aimed at developing a mobile application for tourists and traveling people that offers a new type of experience and presentation of tourist sites, landmarks and natural phenomena. The essence of the entrepreneurial idea is that tourists, using the technology of augmented reality, can use their smartphones to see 3D models of different objects and locations, while receiving additional audio-visual information. The project will contribute to the popularization of tourism in Bulgaria and will enable a wide range of consumers to get acquainted with our cultural, historical and natural heritage.

The project proposal includes the following activities to ensure the realization of the entrepreneurial idea:

– Hiring qualified staff from the sphere of ICT and tourism who will create the mobile application

– Purchasing materials: Audio-visual packages and virtual objects to be integrated into the mobile application

– Renting a work space where the qualified staff will work on the virtual tour guide

– Creating a web-site to promote and inform potential users about the features and benefits of the mobile app

– Developing a marketing plan to draw the right mix of measures for the success of the product.

Thus, the planned activities will provide the necessary bases and conditions for the development and implementation of the entrepreneurial idea of ​​Global Tourism Technology Ltd., which on the one hand will have a positive effect on the development of tourism services in Bulgaria, and on the other hand will support the start of a new enterprise in a strategic value-added sector for Bulgaria with a high potential.

The total time for implementation of the concluded grant contract is 13 months, the budget of the project is 233 660.52 BGN, and the amount of the envisaged financing under OP Innovation and Competitiveness 2014-2020 is 186 928.42 BGN.
